Samosa Chaat is one of the most popular of recent trending foods in the world. It’s simple, it is fast, it tastes yummy. It is appreciated by millions daily. Samosa Chaat is something which I’ve loved my whole life. They’re nice and they look wonderful.
To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook samosa chaat using 29 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you cook it.
The ingredients needed to make Samosa Chaat:
- Prepare Chana
- Get 1 can white chickpeas
- Get Half cup onion
- Take 3 chillies (add more for extra spiceness)
- Get Cut small tomatoes (optional)
- Prepare Bunch coriander chopped
- Get 2 pinches salt
- Take 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
- Take 1/2 tsp curry powder
- Get 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- Get 1/2 tsp masala mix
- Make ready Vegetable oil for cooking
- Prepare Tamarind Sauce (if making from scratch)
- Take Bunch natural tamarind
- Prepare Boil water
- Make ready Pinch salt
- Make ready Curd
- Take 3 tbs yoghurt
- Take 1 tsp sugar (alter to taste for extra sweetness)
- Prepare Extra
- Get Fried samosas
- Take Fry plain samosa pads
- Make ready Sev (sanasur)
- Take Bit of lemon juice
- Make ready Note:
- Prepare Steps 1-4 are for the chana
- Make ready Step 5 is making tamarind sauce (if needed, it’s easier to buy from store)
- Make ready Step 6 is curd sauce
- Take Step 7-8 is assembling all
Steps to make Samosa Chaat:
- Heat 2tbs oil in a pan. Add onions and chillies. Add to pan and allow to sauté for few minutes
- Add washed chickpeas and mix nicely. After this add your tomatoes (optional) and cook.
- After mixing add spices listed in ingredients and mix well. Add little bit of water and allow to simmer.
- Make sure your samosas have been fried at this point and cut them in small pieces (Does not need to be precise) and add them in the pan, and mix a bit until cooked
- For the tamarind sauce, get a bunch of tamarind and soak in boiling water for 5 mins. This will allow the seeds to be removed and drain the liquids out to give the tangy taste. Sieve and remove any hard bits. Add pinch of salt and mix.
- For the curd, get 3 tbs of youghurt and 1 tbs sugar (i used 1.5 tbs of sugar for extra sweetness). Use the ratio 3:1 tbs for youghurt : sugar. Mix nicely.
- Once steps 1-6 are done, grab a plate / bowl of your choice. Add your desired amount of cooked chickpeas on the plate, followed by broken FRIED samosa pads. Then, add your desired amount of tamarind sauce (tangy flavour) and curd (very sweet). Alter to taste and liking. You can always add more after
- Top with a bit of chopped onions, chopped coriander, extra chillies, bit of lemon juice and the sev (sanasur). It is now ready to serve! Enjoy with a cold drink or cup of masala chai.
