Steps to make Tamarind & onion chutney:
- Heat oil in a wok. Add mustard seeds and when mustard seeds splutter add asafoetida and saute for 1 minute. Now add urad and chana dal and roast for 2 minutes. Add whole red chilli and sauté for 1 minute.
- Peel, wash and Chop onion, garlic and tomato.
- Add onion and saute for 2 minutes. Then add chopped tomatoes and garlic and saute for 1 minute again. Switch off the flame. Let the mixture cool.
- Now put it in the mixer. Add tamarind pulp and salt and grind to a fine paste. Add red chilli powder and churn again for 1 minute. Transfer it in a bowl.
