- Prepare 1 tbsp sumac powder
- Make ready 1 tsp dry basil
- Get 1 tsp oregano
- Take 1/2 tsp ground Cumin
- Make ready 1/2 tsp Red Chilli flakes
- Prepare 1/4 tsp Salt or as per taste
- Get 2 tbsp Olive oil
It can be easily made at home and when used in many breads, for. Zaatar Bread, aka Manoushe or Manakish, is a popular flatbread from the middle east. The bread can be prepared with pizza dough and is then topped with a zaatar seasoning paste before being baked in high heat for a short time. The za'atar man'ouche is very rich and healthy.
Steps to make Zataar Braided Bread:
- For bread, take sugar in a bowl, add dry active yeast and lukewarm water and keep aside till frothy.
- Take all purpose flour in a deep mixing bowl, - add milk powder, salt or as per taste.
- Add peprika,dry basil, oregano and onion powder, - now add frothy yeast mixture.
- Add olive oil and required water and knead dough.
- When dough done, cover this and keep aside this for 1 and 1/2 hour or till double in size.
- For zataar filling, roast sesame seeds, take Sumac powder add dry basil
- Oregano
- Transfer roasted sesame seeds in a sumac bowl mixture, and coarsaly crushed it and transfer in a bowl.
- Add salt as per taste
- Add olive oil, ground cumin powder, red chilli flakes
- When dough done, transfer in kitchen platform and knead again, now divide into 2 half and make balls of this.
- Take 1 ball and roll in length wise, fill the prepared zataar, spread evenly, - now fold this carefully.
- Left 1 inch from corner, make cut in middle and divide into two half, - now overlap one half to other.
- Now joint both corner, and keep in lined baking dish, prepare other roll like this and keep it also in baking dish.
- Now left it for 1/2 an hour for prooving, when it's done.
- Bake this in preheated oven at 190* to 200* for 30 to 35 minutes or till completely done.
- Now Zataar Bread ready to serve, enjoy it.
